Carl A. Widmer began his career in governmental accounting in 2008 when he joined the Drescher & Malecki LLP team immediately following graduation from SUNY Geneseo. Since then, Carl has obtained his certification as a certified public accountant and presently serves in the role of Manager. While his role includes the responsibility of supervising audit engagements, Carl also provides technical advice and consultation to clients, uses his creativity to contribute marketing ideas and seeks out new business for the firm. Carl is a member of the New York State Government Finance Officers’ Association (NYSGFOA).
Prior to his tenure at Drescher & Malecki LLP, Carl attended St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, NY which prepared him for his college education at the State University of New York at Geneseo. Carl earned a BS in Accounting while taking full advantage of what college had to offer. He participated in the Accounting Society, Geneseo Opportunities for Leadership Development (“GOLD”) Program, Men’s Club Volleyball Team (Captain), and many intramural sports. If you’re familiar with Geneseo, you’d be interested to know that Carl kept his bank account afloat by working until the wee hours of the night at Mia’s pizzeria for all four years of school.
Carl married his wife, Hayley, in 2012 and they recently moved to West Seneca, NY in January 2014. Carl and Hayley welcomed their first child, Jase, into their lives in August 2015. If the weather is nice you can be sure to find Carl outside enjoying a hike through his backyard down to Cazenovia Creek, golfing at any of the local courses, on the beach playing volleyball, playing basketball at the park or in his driveway washing the cars. Carl and Hayley like to head downtown and explore the new Buffalo development: eat and drink at the bars and restaurants, walk the waterfronts, and listen to the live music. During the colder months Carl stays active in men’s basketball and volleyball leagues, and takes on renovation projects at home. A local sports fan, Carl cheers on the Syracuse Orange and UB Bulls basketball teams and relates with other Buffalonians in the challenging experience of supporting the Bills year in and year out.

Jordan has a unique capability to generate new ways of analyzing and presenting financial data to assign meaning and help determine the significance and implications. He is pioneering innovative data analysis and visualization tools to assist in the firm’s mission to contribute practical and innovative ideas to the community.
